2008 Mission

January 4 – 13, 2008

The Honduras Health Mission returned January 13, 2008 after 10 days of service and fellowship with the people of the United Communities in Choluteca Province. We saw nearly 1600 patients – 1013 in Madrigales, 412 in Los Terreros, and over 140 in the dental clinics in both places. Over five days we ran four clinics each day in Madrigales and three in Los Terreros. Because of the your generous donations of medical supplies and financial contributions, we did not run low on medicines and were able to provide for the last patient as generously as we’d provided for the first.

We saw patients ranging in age from the 21-day-old “nieta” (granddaughter) of one of our health promoters in Los Terreros to a 96-year-old gentleman in Madrigales.

The Mission is based in the town of El Corpus. We stay with families in the town – the Madrigales staff “commutes” from El Corpus each day, and the Los Terreros people stay there at the beginning and end of the visit.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the 2008 Mission. The people we serve in Honduras benefited greatly.
