Rector Father Robert K. Kaynor ("Bob") is our Rector. Father Kaynor came to us in 2005 from Christ Church in Hyde Park, Massachusetts. |
Associate Rector Mother Carol joined the staff in October, 2006 as a transitional deacon from the Diocese of Southwest Florida. On February 4, 2007, she was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Curry in a ceremony held here at St. Stephen’s. Mother Carol was a tenured professor of Communication, teaching courses in the criticism of public address and studying religious leadership when she answered the call to ordained ministry. She attended Virginia Theological Seminary, where she earned a Masters in Divinity in 2006 and given the Harris Award for outstanding leadership. Mother Carol provides ministerial oversight for a variety of parish programs, including newcomers, children’s and youth ministries, adult formation, and spiritual development |
| Deacon The Rev. Louane Frey joined Saint Stephen's as a deacon in November, 2007. She comes to us from the Diocese of New Jersey. Louane holds a BA degree in Elementary Education and post-graduate certification in science education. Louane graduated from the Diocese of New Jersey school for Deacons and was ordained to the Diaconate in 2000. Since ordination, Louane has served as a member of the Diocese of New Jersey Christian Formation Commission, hospital chaplain, and is the former Director of Christian Formation in Princeton, New Jersey. Presently, Louane has been appointed by The Right Reverend Michael B. Curry, Bishop of North Carolina, to serve on the Committee for Christian Formation and as a formation coordinator for the Durham Convocation. contact me ![]() |

| Director of Music Dr. R. Benjamin Hutchens, II began his role as Director of Music in the fall of 2005. He holds a BA in Music from Furman University, a MM in violin performance from the University of Alabama, and a DMA in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. Ben has lead choirs and orchestras through the US and Europe. In addition to his duties at Saint Stephen's, Ben is the music director of the Dei Laudes Choir (www.deilaudes.org) and continues to teach and perform as a violinist. contact me |

Business Manager Mr. Burke Raper is a native of Mount Olive, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Mount Olive College, Westminster Choir College (Princeton, NJ), and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, NC). In addition to his duties here at St. Stephen's, Burke serves New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh as Organist. He is president of Trinity Concepts Corporation, a small business established in 1998 to assist churches with administrative and business management matters.

Pre-School Director Cathy Bressler has been the director of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Preschool since January 1997. She has a master’s degree in Nursing Education and an Early Childhood Education credential. Mrs. Bressler’s husband’s family were founding members of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She has two grown sons. |
