Learning & Education

There are many opportunities to learn and grow with us.  Look at some of the opportunities we have for youth and adults.

Adult Christian Education

Attention, open in a new window.

On Sundays, adults attend a varied series of lectures, studies, and reflections in the Parish Hall or in the Davis Room. Within our parish community many academic and professional backgrounds are represented, making for sometimes lively discourse.

For Schedule see below.

Pre-School

The mission of St. Stephen's Episcopal Preschool is to offer an educational program grounded in the Word of God that nurtures the whole person of every child under our care. By careful and constant attention to social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, and creative growth, an educational experience is presented that fosters the love of learning and growth in a warm and welcoming community that mirrors God's love for all God's children.

For Kindergarten through the Fifth Grade, children may attend Church School on Sundays (see schedule above). The basis of our program is the much lauded Episcopal Children's Curriculum, which provides age and lectionary appropriate materials for Kindergarten, Primary, and Intermediate age levels.

Also, nursery care is available for children up to the age of four during Sunday services.

Church School

From pre-school through fifth grade, the children of St. Stephen’s attend Church school on Sunday mornings beginning at 10:15 am, and will join their parents at the Peace in order that they celebrate the Eucharist as a family.

The basis of our curriculum is the lectionary based curriculum, “Weaving God’s Promises”. This curriculum provides age appropriate activities for our pre-school, primary and intermediate age children. Our trained volunteers are dedicated to providing ample opportunities for our children to grow in both Scriptural and Sacramental faith.

Nursery

God has blessed us with a burgeoning community of infants and toddlers along with our young families. Nursery care is available for children up to the age of four during Sunday services. A nursery worker aided by youth and adult volunteers help to provide a cheerful atmosphere for these most important little ones, who are the growth of the church!
